Advancing the arts through Leadership, Professional Training and Advocacy NYS ARTS has a 33 year history as New York State’s premiere service association for community based arts and cultural organizations. We provide professional training for arts leaders, technical assistance for arts organizations and advocacy leadership to increase public funding and advance public policy in the arts. A dedicated staff provides organizational development services and one-on-one assistance to all members.
PROFESSIONAL TRAINING
On the cutting edge of web-based training in the industry, NYSARTS led the way nationally in e-learing with a partnership Cornell University for the E-Institutes for Leadership. Today, webinar and blog training programs enhance leadership and advocacy skills, expand communications, networking opportunities, and marketing for the not for profit executives who lead and manage small and mid-sized organizations. It is an attractive program delivery system because it is anywhere, anytime access to professsional training.
LEADERSHIP
NYS ARTS is proud to be at the forefront of the arts industry with lively networking events, groundbreaking web based training programs, an expansive online communications network and an annual Arts Summit. As New York State's service association for arts organizations, NYS ARTS services 250 arts and cultural organizations and an online network of almost 20,000 artists and organizations ina ll 62 counties of NY State. The Rural Arts Program is a national model and has been training arts leaders in rural communities for over 15 years.

ADVOCACY
NYS ARTS has successfully engaged the field to create an effective grass roots advocacy program that includes: Local Advocacy Week spearheaded by our Regional Captains, a Virtual Rally, and Arts Day in Albany. Our online Advocacy Center sends thousands of emails to federal and state officials, effectively influencing public policy. Our Executive Director is the State Captain for the Federal Advocacy Campaign, leading the NY State delegation on National Advocacy Day in Washington.
