EXPERTISE:
TAP provides a full range of architectural services and design of facility management plans for non-profit agencies in the Capital District area of New York State. Areas of expertise include:
- Local Advocacy
- Partnerships with Community Groups
- Community Needs/Resources Assessment
- Long Range & Strategic Planning
- ADA Compliance
- Needs Assessment
- Feasibility/Planning Studies

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- Community Relations: Experience in block & neighborhood planning, advocacy for & against public works projects, development of homeowner & code enforcement programs
- Planning: Experience in community vision & long term planning, neighborhood renewal (especially for low-income neighborhoods), strategies for historic preservation & design standards
- Facilities Development: Arranging for architectural services from preliminary design through contract documents to contract administration

EDUCATION & SPECIALIZED TRAINING:
Most staff have degrees in architecture. Two have Masters in Preservation; four have architectural licenses.

RECENT & REPRESENTATIVE CONSULTING WORK:
- 8/02: City Hall, City of Troy; contracts for waterfront development, design assistance, grant writing.
- 8/02: Commission on Economic Development, Local Community Action Program; design of new & renovated facilities.
- 8/02: design of rehabilitated low-income housing for TRIP.
- 8/02: Troy 2020, a civic group planning for the future of Troy. TAP provided the contract to provide administrative services.
- 8/02: Better Neighborhoods, Inc. a non-profit housing agency in Schnectady; provided new & rehabilitated housing design.

FEE:
8% to 12% of construction cost or $40 - $65 per hour.

The Alliance of New York State Arts Organizations has a 29-year history as New York s service association for community based arts and cultural organizations. The Alliance provides leadership and vision, and delivers services, resources and tools that strengthen cultural organizations. The Alliance informs the field on statewide and national issues affecting the arts and assists local arts agencies in building community support.
