DAY IN ALBANY IS A WEEK AWAY: TUESDAY MARCH 9, 2004 Join
your colleagues from all over the state as we rally in support of the cultural
community. We are hoping for a $4,000,000 increase to the New York State Council
on the Arts Budget his year and your participation will make a difference. Activities
will take place between 9 and 4. To sign up, click
here.
Headquarters will be in "The Well" of the Legislative
Office Building in Albany which will provide a place to gather, network, pick
up talking points, peruse exhibits and view performances. The Arts Day Hearing
with celebrities will take place at 11 am in Hearing Room A. PLEASE
MAKE SURE TO BRING PHOTO ID.
Thorough security procedures at the State Capital are in place. When entering
the office buildings, one must produce photo ID. Bags are subject to search and
all pass through check-points similar to the airports. During the day the concourse
lines to enter the buildings are very long. Please plan accodingly and add addtional
time. The Entrance to the New York State Capital Building on State Street is slightly
more efficient and we recommend access at that point. Once you are admitted there,
you can pass between the buildings seamlessly. As
a final reminder, we have reserved parking in the Cathedral Lot on Madison
Street. These spaces much be prepaid and are $7/space. Please contack Amy
Wippert at the Alliance office awippert@thealliancenys.org
or call (631) 298-1234 to secure your spot(s). |
