Governor's
proposed 2006-07 budget Governor Pataki's budget proposal includes $40 million for NYSCA - an increase of $2.6 million over the current $37.4 million. NYSCA administration is also proposed to increase from $5.3 to $5.7 million. This is good news. It gets us closer to our goal for the 2006-2007:
It's vital that you document the importance of the arts to the health of New York State. Tell your own stories, and of relate the economic impact of the arts industry in each community. Remind your legislators of what $2.50 will purchase in your community, and how that compares to the benefits of investing $2.50 in the arts. Watch for additional details from the Alliance. |
